Course details
- Qualification
- Non-degree Korean language study
- Teaching provider
- KOREA UNIVERSITY
- Campus
- Online study administered by Korea University’s Korean Language Center in Seoul. The office is Room 301, Korean Education Building, 41 Bugaksan-ro 27-gil, Seongbuk-gu. This office address does not require learners to reside in Seoul.
- Teaching language
- Korean-language learning; confirm the languages used for explanations, placement, assessment and support. Website translations and contact languages do not establish an English-taught course.
- Study mode
- Live online teaching through Zoom, supported by Blackboard recordings and materials. A roughly ten-minute one-to-one Zoom interview is used for placement. The Saturday timetable uses Korean time; check your local time difference and technical access.
- Duration
- Eight Saturday meetings, advertised as 24 class hours, normally 11:00–14:00 Korean time. Listed non-teaching dates can extend the calendar beyond eight consecutive weeks. Confirm lesson units, breaks, holiday changes and the exact dates for your term.
- Entry requirements
- You must be at least 16 and able to read and write Hangul. The centre uses a Zoom placement interview and can cancel a class if fewer than five learners enrol. Its FAQ says this online short course does not provide documents for a Korean visa and does not allow registration for multiple terms at once. Apply within the relevant term’s window and confirm placement, the active registration link and technical requirements. The regular language programme’s D-4 bank, nationality and multi-term requirements are separate.
- Course fees
- The current registration page lists KRW 400,000 for new registration, including a KRW 60,000 application component; do not add that charge again. The returning rate is KRW 340,000 for someone who took a Korea University Korean Language Center course within the past year. Confirm your term’s invoice, materials and discount eligibility. Transfer charges are the student’s responsibility. Registration instructions specify an exact KRW payment, while the FAQ allows foreign-currency equivalents provided there is no shortfall; confirm the accepted currency and invoice with the centre. Class cancellation refunds tuition and the application component. For approved student cancellation, tuition is refundable before classes, two-thirds within the first third of instructional days, half within the first half, and not after the halfway point; the application component is otherwise non-refundable. Confirm the refund basis for your payment category. These are listed references, not a guaranteed 2027 personal invoice.
- Intake
- The registration panel still shows 2026 Term 6 applications, 23 September–8 October 2026; that window has ended, although its classes are listed for 7 November–26 December. The annual calendar separately lists 2027 Term 1 applications for 12–26 November 2026, payment by 2 December, placement on 12 December, class-opening announcement on 15 December and classes 2 January–27 February 2027. Later 2027 application/class windows are: Term 2, 14–28 January / 6 March–24 April; Term 3, 11–25 March / 1 May–19 June; Term 4, 6–20 May / 26 June–21 August; Term 5, 8–22 July / 28 August–23 October; Term 6, 10–30 September / 30 October–18 December. Confirm the current registration panel and link, payment and placement dates, cutoff time, timezone and class opening; a future calendar row does not confirm an available place.
