- Campus

Application documents go to the Korean Language Program Coordinator, International Cooperation Team, first floor of International Hall (국제관), 9 Chosundae 5-gil, Dong-gu, Gwangju 61452, Republic of Korea. This is the document-submission office; confirm the teaching building, timetable and housing location separately.
- Location
- Gwangju
- Teaching language
- Korean language study. Confirm the language used for classroom explanations and support, the available proficiency levels and any placement test. An English-language application guide does not establish English-medium teaching.
- Duration
- The published 2026 schedule groups Spring and Summer into the first semester, and Fall and Winter into the second. Each paired semester is listed as 20 weeks and 400 hours. These are semester totals across two seasonal sessions. Confirm the minimum registration period, weekly timetable, level placement and attendance requirements for your intended entry.
- Entry requirements
- The 2026 guide requires the applicant and both parents to be foreign nationals, and high-school graduation or expected graduation, a higher qualification or recognised equivalent. It excludes dual nationals and stateless applicants. Selection considers academic and financial capability, with no guaranteed admission. Prepare the signed application, self-introduction, study plan, personal-information consent, passport copy, two photographs, highest-education certificate, full transcript and academic-record verification consent. Complete the online submission and send the required originals by post or deliver them in person; the guide specifies receipt by 17:00 on the application deadline. Obtain the current full checklist and confirm the applicable time zone. The ordinary financial checklist specifies an original English bank certificate showing at least KRW 8,000,000, issued within 30 days of the visa application date, in the applicant’s or a parent’s name. Vietnam’s note gives an amount of at least KRW 8,000,000 deposited for at least 12 months, or a Study Expense Deposit Certificate from a Korean financial institution operating locally. The Korean wording applies that institution scope to the Vietnamese certificate route, and a separate note requires a locally based Korean bank for Vietnamese and Uzbek applicants. Confirm the accepted bank, certificate type and whether a certificate-route deposit period applies before moving funds. Parent employment and income evidence, or business-registration and tax evidence where applicable, are also requested. Nationality and family evidence must follow the applicable original/notarised and recent-document rules; the family-document section uses a three-month window. Chinese applicants can use the prescribed kinship certificate or notarised Household Register, with a kinship certificate when parents appear separately. Chinese academic verification differs by school type: the general high-school/university row names English CHSI evidence, while vocational and technical schools have their own authentication requirements. Other countries use the applicable apostille or consular route. Confirm the precise documents and translation language for your education type: the Korean and English versions both request notarised English translations in the family-evidence section, while a general note requests notarised Korean translations of other-language originals. Confirm the accepted translation language for each document before arranging notarisation; the Korean version itself contains both instructions. The guide gives priority to Korean where translations differ. A gap of more than six months after graduation requires evidence of activities; current employment, previous Korean study and an existing Korean visa have additional conditions. Submitted documents are not returned. Additional evidence may be requested. Admission and visa decisions remain separate; the guide requires deferral if a visa is not secured before classes begin.
- Course fees
- The published 2026 tuition reference is KRW 2,550,000 for a paired semester of 20 weeks and 400 hours, including textbooks. This amount covers the semester shown across two seasonal sessions; confirm the current invoice and minimum registration period. Housing, meals, insurance, registration-related charges and personal expenses require a separate budget. The guide’s dormitory figures are 2025 references, and Baekhaksa and Global House residents must select and pay for a specified meal plan separately. The Korean and English versions both give different descriptions of when national cover starts; confirm your actual enrolment date, any private-cover requirement and the current charges before travel. No settlement estimate is presented as a complete course package. The guide lists class-rank scholarships of 20%, 15% and 10% of tuition for first, second and third place, awarded each semester, twice a year. It also describes a one-time KRW 500,000 TOPIK award for level 4 or higher, and a separate one-time progression award for admission to a Chosun degree programme. Confirm current eligibility, selection, payment and combination rules; no award, degree place or reduced net fee is guaranteed. Ask for the current refund policy, including remittance charges.
- Intake
- The published 2026 Winter class period is 23 November 2026 to 2 February 2027; these class dates do not establish an open application window or available places. The guide gives Spring applications from 1 to 19 December 2025 and Summer applications from 3 to 20 March 2026, which are closed. Ask us to confirm the next registration deadline, full document-arrival deadline and current timetable; published schedules may change.
