- Campus
- The general graduate admission table lists Iksan Campus for this department. Confirm the actual teaching, laboratory and research locations before arranging travel.
- Teaching language
- The graduate table lists English, Korean as the lecture languages. The table does not establish an entirely English-taught route; confirm the language of individual classes, assessment and supervision.
- Study mode
- Confirm the timetable, attendance and research-supervision arrangements, including any practical or laboratory work.
- Duration
- The guide lists four semesters (two years) for this degree level. Completion depends on the prescribed credits, examinations, thesis and department requirements; confirm your individual research plan.
- Entry requirements
- The published spring 2027 graduate route requires a foreign applicant who either has two foreign parents with no Korean citizenship, or completed the full elementary, middle, high-school and undergraduate education sequence outside Korea. You must be able to study in Korean or English and meet the department-specific language criteria. A Master’s degree from a regular Master’s programme is required, and expected graduates must obtain it before the semester begins. Prepare the application receipt, admission application, research plan, personal-information agreement, applicable academic certificates and transcripts, passport, nationality and family-relationship or entire-overseas-education evidence, and the required language and financial documents. Documents in another language require Korean or English translations. For an unnotarised translation, the Korean guide requires Form 3 (translator confirmation) and the translator’s graduation certificate. Confirm the applicable format before commissioning a translation. Where the transcript omits the GPA or grading scale, provide the university’s Form 2 evidence or the specified conversion report. Degree authentication depends on the country where the degree was awarded: the checklist names CHSI for China and apostille or Korean-embassy verification for other countries, with an exception for Korean-university graduates. A Chinese household register alone is not accepted for family relationships; the checklist requires the specified notarial relationship certificate. The overseas-education route requires the additional school diplomas and Korean entry-exit evidence. Language certificates must be valid when applying and generally issued within two years; JLPT is excluded from that two-year rule. The financial reference is at least KRW 16,000,000. Successful applicants in Korea use their own Korean account, with a certificate issued within 30 days before the visa application; overseas applicants may use their own or a parent’s account, within 30 days of submission. The guide also permits its specified financial-sponsorship certificate or a JBNU scholarship certificate for department-recommended applicants. Confirm your applicable documents before obtaining a statement. Selection combines document screening and interview, with a minimum total of 60 points. Two or more interviewers assigning the lowest score is a separate rejection condition. Interviews may use Korean or English; overseas interviews may use phone or video, and arts applicants may face performance assessment. Submit the required documents by the deadline; permitted emailed copies must be followed by matching originals. Final originals and specified supplementary documents are due by 19 February 2027. If you rely on provisional graduation documents, ask admissions to confirm the deadline: the appendix’s conditional country provisions, including Vietnam, do not establish an automatic one-year extension. Applicants changing disciplines for a Master’s or doctorate, and applicants entering a doctorate after a professional or special graduate school, must complete the department’s designated prerequisite courses in addition to the normal completion credits. Graduation requires the prescribed credits, examinations, thesis defence, advisor recommendation and research-ethics education; doctoral requirements also include a research-publication record. Department-specific graduation conditions need confirmation. Tuition figures refer to autumn 2026 and may change for spring 2027; request current tuition and confirmed award terms. The department table has no specified admission-language score. Its note permits application without a language certificate in that case; you must still be able to participate in the listed teaching languages. A joint research-institute entry path is also listed for this degree. It requires prior consultation with the academic advisor and institute and the institute’s recommendation. Partner-specific degree restrictions apply, transfer entry is excluded, and termination or expiry of the institutional agreement may affect continuation. Confirm the suitable partner before applying. An integrated Master–Doctoral entry option is listed. The guide describes eight semesters and a doctoral award without a separate Master’s thesis; a Master’s exit is conditional on its credit and thesis requirements. Confirm the entry route and award plan; this is an option within the department, not an additional standalone listing.
