KONGJU NATIONAL UNIVERSITY lists Global Korean Studies as a freshman-only international admission unit at its Gongju campus. The 2027 Spring guide describes a separate English-track department; it does not confirm the teaching language for Global Korean Studies.

The guide says the separate Division of International Studies has 100% English major courses, while most courses in other departments are in Korean. It does not specify the teaching language for Global Korean Studies; confirm directly with KNU.

Entry requirements

For the 2027 Spring freshman route, the guide requires the applicant and both parents to be non-Korean nationals and a completed high-school-equivalent education (or expected completion before February 2027). It says GED, homeschooling and cyber-learning backgrounds are not recognized. Meet one Korean-language standard: TOPIK Level 3 or higher, completion of a Korean course at level 3 at a Korean university, passing KNU’s Korean proficiency test, KIIP Level 3 or higher, or King Sejong Institute Intermediate 1 or higher. KNU must assess individual equivalency and documents; check its latest guide before applying.

Application fee

KRW 60,000, payable online. The guide provides a KRW 40,000 refund for applicants who fail document screening, or in specified documented cases when an interview-stage applicant cannot attend because of a natural disaster, accident-related hospitalisation or death. Confirm current refund terms with KNU.
