Master’s degree
Teaching provider
THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF KOREA
Campus
Graduate admissions take place at CUK’s Seongsim Campus in Bucheon. The Global Admissions office is at 김수환관 K340, 43 Jibong-ro; confirm department teaching and research locations.
Teaching language
Confirm the language of supervision, teaching and assessment. Mathematics is not marked as an English-Medium Program in the reviewed graduate admissions table; English proficiency criteria for designated programmes do not establish an English-taught degree here.
Study mode
The graduate curriculum lists thesis research and mathematical modules. Confirm the research route, attendance, supervision and modules required for your chosen specialism. Individual module credits and graduate career examples do not establish the standard programme length or an additional degree.
Duration
Confirm the standard duration, required credits and research or graduation route for your chosen master’s pathway. References to one- or two-year programmes in scholarship conditions do not establish this programme’s length.
Entry requirements
The graduate guide gives two alternative eligibility categories: a foreign applicant whose parents are also foreign nationals, or a Korean national living overseas or foreign applicant who completed the entire elementary, middle, high-school and undergraduate curriculum abroad. The Korean version requires a bachelor’s degree or recognised equivalent by February 2027, with the degree obtained before admission. The English version retains August 2026 wording; the guide explicitly states that Korean controls interpretation differences, so confirm your final-document deadline against the Korean checklist. Korean-language evidence routes include TOPIK Level 3 or higher, completion of Sejong Institute Intermediate 2 or higher, or KIIP Level 4 or a pre-evaluation score of at least 81 with the prescribed proof. A Korean Study Plan route is also listed for applicants without the required Korean score. This entails 300 hours of Korean study within one year at CUK, with additional tuition and further study if completion requirements are not met. Students who do not submit TOPIK Level 3 or higher before 10 February 2027 must attend the designated special Korean programme. Confirm whether any initial language-evidence alternative exempts you from that study requirement. The ordinary graduation reference is TOPIK Level 4 or higher; bilingual and designated English-medium programmes have separate rules. Ordinary departments use document review and interview weighted 50% each, with online or offline interviews decided by the department. Accepted students submit financial proof when requesting the Certificate of Admission. Under the Korean wording, the balance is at least KRW 20,000,000 in an applicant’s or parent’s Korean or overseas bank certificate, normally issued within 30 days of that request. A certificate with an explicit validity period may have effect for up to six months from issue. Extension or language-study-to-degree status-change cases require the applicant’s own Korean-bank certificate. Confirm your document and financial-proof category; these balances are not tuition payments, and admission does not guarantee a visa, funding or employment.
Course fees
The ordinary master’s application fee is KRW 100,000. The separate Natural Sciences new-student table gives a first-semester 2026 reference: admission charge (A) KRW 1,129,000, tuition (B) KRW 6,545,000, and the listed A+B total KRW 7,674,000. The guide says 2027 amounts may change; request the current invoice and confirm later-semester admission-charge frequency. No annual total or scholarship-adjusted price is assumed. The designated Korean special programme has additional tuition, whose amount requires confirmation. The guide describes a tuition refund before the semester starts and university/scholarship rules after it starts. Application fees are generally non-refundable after the application period, with qualifying documented exceptions subject to review and a request within three days of the examination; service and bank deductions apply. Scholarship eligibility and duration-specific restrictions require confirmation, including differing one-year-master’s wording between language versions. Confirm housing, insurance, materials and other charges separately. Financial-proof balances are not fees.
Intake
Spring 2027: the first application period ended on 23 October 2026. The second is listed as 9 November 2026 at 14:00–7 December 2026 at 17:00 KST, with documents and application fee due within the designated period. Interview is listed for 18 December, results for 7 January 2027, and tuition payment for 12–15 January. The English guide additionally limits the second round to applicants in Korea on D/F status or overseas applicants whose visa processing takes less than two weeks; the Korean procedure page does not repeat this condition. Obtain confirmation of your second-round eligibility; its omission does not establish a waiver or a visa-processing guarantee. Confirm teaching start dates, places and any department schedule changes.
