Course details

Qualification
Non-degree Korean language study
Teaching provider
THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF KOREA
Campus
The Catholic University of Korea, Seongsim Campus, Bucheon; language-centre office at Kim Sou-hwan Hall K340, 43 Jibong-ro. Confirm actual teaching rooms.
Teaching language
Korean-language study; confirm the languages used for classroom explanations, assessment and student support. The website’s unofficial Google translation does not establish an English-taught course.
Study mode
In-person classes, Monday to Friday. The schedule assigns Levels 1–2 to 13:30–17:20 and Levels 3–6 to 09:00–12:50; confirm your placement and session. These are alternative sessions, not two daily classes.
Duration
Ten weeks per term with 200 advertised class hours. The schedule notes 196 or 192 actual hours when one or two public holidays occur without extending the end date; three or more holidays can extend the term beyond ten weeks. Confirm your term’s actual hours and lesson units. Completing all six levels is described as taking approximately one and a half years; placement, progression and repeat study can affect this.
Entry requirements
The regular-course registration page accepts high-school graduates, expected graduates or applicants with equivalent education, and states no age limit. Confirm the required documents, placement process and any applicant-specific arrangements before applying. The university’s schedule asks D-4 applicants to submit documents at least one week before the published deadline to allow for visa processing; ask which document and payment deadlines apply to you. Admission, lawful stay, visa approval and later degree admission are separate decisions. Scholarships, language-study support and discounted rates have their own eligibility conditions and are not guaranteed to every student.
Course fees
The undated regular-course registration page lists KRW 1,500,000 tuition for one ten-week term and a separate KRW 80,000 application fee. It also lists a one-year registration option at KRW 5,400,000 for four terms/40 weeks with a stated 10% reduction. Conditional per-term rates are KRW 1,050,000 for current CUK undergraduate/graduate students and current CUK exchange students, and KRW 750,000 for Catholic clergy (priests and nuns). Confirm eligibility, payment timing and whether any reductions can be combined; these are not universal discounts or a verified personal 2027 invoice. Confirm refund terms, textbooks, insurance, accommodation and other costs separately; they are not established as included in these tuition figures.
Intake
The calendar contains explicit 2027 rows: Spring applications 1 November–24 December 2026, classes 8 March–19 May 2027; Summer applications 1 February–26 March 2027, classes 7 June–13 August 2027; Autumn applications 12 April–30 June 2027, classes 6 September–19 November 2027; Winter applications 2 August–24 September 2027, classes 6 December 2027–17 February 2028. The same page retains a “2024–2025 academic schedule” heading, so confirm the current calendar version, deadline time, timezone and available places. Application periods are separate from teaching dates. The university says schedules may change and asks students to arrive before the start of term; do not treat these dates as a confirmed personal admission or visa schedule.
