- Entry requirements
- The following describes Dongguk University’s closed Spring 2026 first-round international undergraduate guide; confirm the current conditions before applying. The applicant and both parents must hold foreign nationality. The guide excludes Korean dual nationals and stateless applicants or parents, and sets nationality-history conditions, including acquisition or loss of nationality before high school where applicable. The Korean version expressly controls: its allowance for loss of Korean nationality before high school differs from the English translation. Have your nationality history checked against the current Korean requirements. First-year applicants need regular high-school graduation, expected graduation by February 2026 for this dated round, or recognised equivalent education. Shorter national school systems require review of the full recognised curriculum; the guide does not accept GED, home schooling, online or lifelong-education routes as substitutes. Transfer applications have separate prior-study and credit conditions; do not apply first-year eligibility to a transfer application. The guide lists alternative entry evidence: TOPIK or IBT TOPIK level 3; King Sejong Institute intermediate level 1B; four completed regular terms at Dongguk Seoul’s Korean institute plus level 3; four completed regular terms at another Korean four-year university’s Korean institute plus level 4; or Dongguk’s own Korean test level 3. The institute-study routes require at least 80% attendance in every term under the controlling Korean text; the English text instead says over 80%. Being enrolled in the fourth term does not establish completion. Confirm accepted evidence and score validity for your next round. TOPIK or IBT TOPIK level 4 is required for major-course registration and graduation. Freshmen take the Global Leaders Track’s sixteen general-education credits and must meet the level-4 condition before progressing to major courses. Prepare the signed application forms, passport, applicant and parental nationality and family evidence, school completion and transcript records, and language evidence. Country-specific academic authentication and translation rules apply. Chinese transcripts need the specified notarised Korean or English translation; the general allowance for some Chinese documents does not remove that requirement. Chinese ordinary and vocational high-school records have different verification routes. Do not mail original degree certificates or household registers: follow the controlling Korean copy and authentication instructions and confirm the submission checklist before sending anything. Recommendation letters are optional. The bank-certificate stage is for admitted students after tuition payment, rather than every initial applicant. The guide lists historical alternatives of KRW 20,000,000, USD 20,000 or CNY 140,000, in the applicant’s or parents’ accounts, with combined balances allowed. These are printed alternatives, not current exchange-rate equivalents or current visa rules. Certificates are issued within one month of submission; Chinese-bank funds must be frozen for at least six months from issue under the Korean text. Confirm the current financial requirements and country-specific evidence. Selection is document assessment weighted at 100%. The guide generally asks applicants to state two choices; some units accept first-choice applications only, so check the permitted combination.
- Course fees
- The Spring 2026 first-round guide lists an application fee of KRW 130,000 for this unit. Tuition and other charges are separate. The guide’s tuition table does not identify its billing period, and its dormitory amounts are explicitly 2025 references. Ask for the current invoice, accommodation availability, inclusions and written payment and refund terms. Application fees are generally non-refundable, with specific exceptions in the guide; confirm which terms apply. Scholarships depend on eligibility and selection and are not guaranteed or automatically combined.
- Intake
- The Spring 2026 first-round application window closed on 13 October 2025. Documents were due by post on 15 October, or in person on 14–15 October. The guide lists practical examinations on 30 October, results on 18 November 2025 and the semester starting on 2 March 2026. These are historical dates. Ask for the next published round, confirmed deadlines and places.
