- Entry requirements
- Global Studies is one admission unit with four listed major paths. The guide labels Global Business and Korean Studies as 100% English-track paths; Korean Studies is transfer-only. Culture Industry Management and Korean–Chinese Translation and Interpretation are listed as international-student-only paths; confirm their entry type and Korean-track conditions. English-path entry requires an accepted IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 59, CEFR B2 or NEW TEPS 202 result; the guide separately requires TOEFL iBT 3.5 or above for tests taken on or after 21 January 2026. Confirm which test-date condition applies to your result. The guide allows specified English-country nationality or schooling documents to replace scores; confirm the exact evidence rather than assuming any English-medium certificate is sufficient. English-score entrants are exempt from the compulsory freshman intensive-Korean requirement. Where admission is through English scores and the department teaches in English, the guide provides a Korean-language graduation exemption. This entry is covered by the Spring 2027 international undergraduate guide. Applicants and both parents must be foreign nationals and meet the university’s nationality rules; Korean dual nationality is excluded. The Korean guide accepts regular high-school graduates or expected graduates and equivalent educational programmes, but excludes GED, homeschooling and online, adult or lifelong-education routes. Confirm your specific school-completion timetable and evidence. For the Korean-track freshman route, alternatives include TOPIK/TOPIK iBT Level 2 or above; passing Hallym HU-TOPIK; enrolment in or completion of Hallym Korean Intermediate 2 or above; Sejong Korean Beginner 2 or above under the Korean text; or the specified Social Integration Level 2/pre-assessment 41 route. HU-TOPIK opportunities overseas are limited to qualified partner organisations. Language results must remain valid when the online application is submitted. Korean-track new students below TOPIK Level 3 normally complete at least 300 hours of intensive Korean over the first two semesters, with the guide listing 160 hours per semester. Major-course enrolment is restricted until the second year, while foundation/liberal-arts credits may be taken. Achieving TOPIK Level 3 in the first semester changes the language requirement to 120 hours and permits major courses; submitting Level 3 at least one week before entry may provide an exemption. Confirm how these conditions apply to your evidence. For Korean-track students, graduation requires department requirements plus TOPIK Level 4 or a listed equivalent; this is separate from entry eligibility. The guide lists academic, language, identity/family and financial documents, with nationality-specific authentication. Proof of at least KRW 16,000,000 is a financial-evidence requirement, not tuition. Applicants in Korea use their own Korean-bank account; applicants overseas normally use their own or a parent’s account. For Vietnamese and Uzbek nationals living overseas, the guide specifies a locally established Korean financial institution. It requires a bank certificate issued within 30 days before submission and funds held through at least the end of March 2027; confirm the exact format with the university. Documents not in Korean or English need the stated notarised translation. Chinese school-qualification verification and family-document requirements differ by school category. Korean-track transfer applicants have separate prior-study and normally TOPIK Level 3 rules; fourth-year bilingual exceptions require individual confirmation. The English translation contains inconsistent expected-graduation years and Sejong entry-level wording; the guide says Korean prevails. Confirm those points and your full checklist before applying. Departmental assessment may include a phone or video interview. No admission, funding, visa, professional recognition or available-place outcome is guaranteed.
- Course fees
- Application fee: KRW 65,000 for the Spring 2027 international undergraduate application; this is not tuition. The guide states no cancellation or application-fee refund after submission. For new students subject to compulsory intensive Korean, the additional published charge is KRW 1,000,000 per semester; confirm your required period and any exemption. Degree tuition for 2027 must be confirmed: the guide’s tuition tables are 2026 references. Financial proof of KRW 16,000,000 is not a fee. English-score entrants to the guide’s English paths are exempt from compulsory intensive Korean.
