Qualification
Non-degree Korean language study
Teaching provider
KOREA UNIVERSITY
Campus
Administered by Korea University’s Korean Language Center in Seoul; office at Room 301, Korean Education Building, 41 Bugaksan-ro 27-gil, Seongbuk-gu. Confirm actual teaching rooms. The calendar marks spring accommodation unavailable and summer/winter accommodation available, subject to application and allocation; this does not guarantee a room.
Teaching language
Korean-language learning; confirm the languages used for explanations, placement, assessment and support. Website translations and contact languages do not establish an English-taught course.
Study mode
The published timetable lists Monday–Friday Korean classes in a 09:00–13:00 window, plus Tuesday/Thursday afternoon special classes, using Korean time. Confirm attendance format, teaching rooms and your assigned timetable. The online application is the registration method and does not establish remote teaching.
Duration
Length and advertised class hours vary by session. The 2026 winter course runs 28 December 2026–15 January 2027 and lists 60 hours including special classes. The 2027 spring and first summer sessions list 84 hours, the second summer session 60, and winter 56. Confirm the applicable lesson units, breaks and holiday-adjusted schedule; this is not a fixed ten-week or 200-hour regular course.
Entry requirements
The published eligibility covers overseas Koreans and foreign applicants who have graduated, expect to graduate from high school, or have equivalent educational ability. The programme describes adult learners; confirm any age-specific arrangements. Registration asks for a passport copy, education evidence in English, payment proof and discount evidence where applicable. The applicant must type an honest self-introduction using their own Korean ability, without internet searches or AI assistance. A class needs at least eight learners to open. Completion requires at least 70% attendance and 70% grades. Confirm placement, travel and lawful-stay arrangements separately; this page does not establish eligibility for the regular programme’s D-4 route, multi-term registration or bank-proof rules.
Course fees
The Winter 2026 registration table lists KRW 1,260,000 for a new student, including the KRW 60,000 application component, and a KRW 1,200,000 returning rate for someone who took a Korea University Korean Language Center course within the past year. Listed winter dormitory cost is separately KRW 520,000. These are Winter 2026 references, not 2027 tuition or a guaranteed room; confirm the next cohort’s invoice, materials, accommodation dates and other costs. Transfer charges are the student’s responsibility, and discount categories require advance confirmation. Do not add the included application component twice. The programme’s own refund table gives full tuition and application refunds if the class does not open. Approved student cancellation refunds tuition before classes, two-thirds within the first third of instructional days, half within the first half, and none after halfway; the application component is otherwise non-refundable. Ask the centre to confirm your refund calculation and required supporting documents.
Intake
For Winter 2026, applications are listed for 15 October–5 November 2026, placement for 19–20 November, class-opening announcement for 11 December, and classes for 28 December 2026–15 January 2027. The 2027 calendar lists Spring applications 23 November–24 December 2026, placement 5–7 January, opening announcement 21 January and classes 15 February–12 March. Summer 1 applications run 14 April–6 May, classes 28 June–23 July; Summer 2 applications 19 May–9 June, classes 2–20 August; Winter applications 14 October–4 November, classes 28 December 2027–14 January 2028. The registration panel and fee table currently cover Winter 2026. Confirm later-cohort registration, payment timing, cutoff time, timezone, places and any changes; teaching dates and application dates are separate.
